Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Medicine Nurse Case Manager to join our team. This role focuses on coordinating and managing work-related health cases, ensuring employees receive timely, appropriate care while supporting safe and efficient return-to-work outcomes. The Nurse Case Manager will serve as a clinical liaison between employees, employers, physicians, and other medical providers, maintaining compliance with occupational health standards and workers’ compensation requirements.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly
*This is a remote role.
Responsibilities

Serve as the primary clinical liaison between employees, employers, treating physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure efficient and effective occupational healthcare delivery.

Assess and monitor work-related injuries or illnesses, reviewing medical records, test results, and physician recommendations to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Coordinate care with specialists, therapists, and external providers based on physician orders, ensuring all follow-ups, treatments, and documentation are completed accurately and promptly.

Maintain thorough and high-quality clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR), including progress notes, treatment plans, and return-to-work recommendations.

Track patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and update care plans to support safe and timely return-to-work strategies.

Provide education to employees regarding treatment plans, injury prevention, workplace safety practices, and strategies for maintaining overall occupational health.

Ensure all case management activities comply with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, workers’ compensation, ADA, and other applicable occupational health guidelines.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, HR, safety officers, and insurance representatives, to optimize patient outcomes and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Participate in case review meetings, providing clinical insights, recommendations, and support for complex or high-risk occupational health cases.
Requirements

Graduate of an accredited NP or nursing program with an active, unrestricted California license.

Must meet all licensure requirements for the applicable state of practice.

Demonstrated experience managing occupational medicine cases, work-related injuries, and return-to-work protocols.

Strong knowledge of occupational health regulations, workers’ compensation processes, OSHA standards, and compliance.

Excellent clinical assessment, documentation, and case management skills.

Strong communication, organizational, and coordination abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with teams.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
