A nationally recognized academic medical center in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to support a Level IV NICU within a high-acuity neonatal program.

This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a collaborative neonatology team managing complex neonatal cases in one of the most advanced NICU environments available. The role is ideal for experienced NNPs seeking exposure to high-acuity neonatal care within a well-supported multidisciplinary team.

Compensation is competitive and based on background, experience, and overall qualifications.



Position Overview
• Level IV NICU (highest level neonatal care)
• High-acuity neonatal patient population
• Academic hospital environment with advanced resources
• Collaborative neonatology team
• EPIC electronic medical record
• Paper timesheets
• Travel accommodations available if needed



Schedule
• Primarily night coverage
• Possible mix of days and nights depending on availability
• 12-hour shifts
• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Minimum 6 shifts per month
• Weekend availability required
No call responsibilities



Clinical Responsibilities
• Manage neonatal patients within a Level IV NICU
• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and treatment planning
• Participate in high-risk deliveries
• Provide neonatal stabilization and advanced procedures
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostics
• Document patient care in EPIC EMR

Procedures may include:
• Lumbar puncture
• Direct laryngoscopy and intubation
• Chest tube placement and removal
• Needle decompression and thoracentesis
• Umbilical arterial and venous catheter placement
• Arterial cannulation
• Suprapubic bladder tap



Patient Volume
• Average 6–14 neonatal patients per day



Minimum Qualifications
Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
• Active Maryland Nurse Practitioner license
NNP specialty certification required
• Minimum 4 years of APP experience in Level III or Level IV NICU settings
• Active and unrestricted DEA
• Current BLS certification



Assignment Details
Start: As soon as credentialing allows (temporary privileges available)
Contract Length: Approximately 6 months with strong potential for extension
Interview Process:
• 30-minute virtual interview with the clinical team
• Feedback typically within 24–48 hours
