Job description
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse with additional clinical and didactic education who functions at an advanced level of nursing practice. This role involves physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment, and the management of health-illness needs, providing direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff. The NP will embody and promote the core values of the organization and serve as a role model to colleagues.
Job Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of a Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program
(New graduates may be considered with prior pediatric and/or NICU experience)
Preferred:
Bilingual in Spanish
Acute care pediatric and/or NICU experience
Experience with intubation and placing emergency umbilical lines
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse license (California)
Current Nurse Practitioner license (California)
NP Furnishing license (within 3 months of hire)
DEA number or proof of application (within 3 months of hire)
Meets CMS criteria to bill Medicare
AHA-HCP CPR certification
NRP certification (within 6 months of hire)
PALS certification (within 6 months of hire)
Credentialing through Medical Staff and Finance Office
Preferred:
National Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
