About Columbia, Missouri:
Columbia is one of the Midwest’s best-kept secrets — a vibrant university city of 130,000 perfectly positioned two hours from both Kansas City and St. Louis. Home to the University of Missouri, Columbia pulses with college-town energy: a thriving downtown packed with locally owned restaurants, craft breweries, live music venues, and a year-round farmers market. The cost of living runs 15–20% below the national average, meaning your dollar stretches dramatically — a beautifully updated home in a top-rated school district can be found for 50K–50K. Outdoor enthusiasts love the 60+ miles of trails including the legendary MKT Trail, Rock Bridge Memorial State Park’s caves and bluffs, and easy weekend getaways to the Lake of the Ozarks. Columbia’s public schools consistently rank among the best in Missouri, and the university brings world-class arts, SEC athletics, and a diverse, educated community. If you want big-city culture with small-town warmth — and a paycheck that actually lets you build wealth — Columbia delivers.
