Job description Job Overview – Neurology Nurse Practitioner (Outpatient):
Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000/year
Location: Middletown, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Neurology Nurse Practitioner (Outpatient) in Middletown, NJ for our client. In this role, you will provide comprehensive neurological care for pediatric and adult patients, perform evaluations, manage chronic and acute conditions, interpret diagnostics, and create evidence-based treatment plans. You will collaborate with the supervising neurologist, support clinical operations, and help manage a growing patient panel in a rapidly expanding practice.

Responsibilities as the Neurology Nurse Practitioner (Outpatient):
  • Neurological Evaluations: Perform comprehensive assessments for new and established pediatric and adult patients.
  • Condition Management: Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological conditions including seizures, migraines, dementia, neuropathy, and movement disorders.
  • Diagnostics & Treatment: Order and interpret tests and imaging, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and adjust care based on patient response.
  • Medication & Follow-Up Care: Prescribe and manage medications while conducting efficient new patient assessments and follow-up visits.
  • Clinical Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with the neurologist and care team while maintaining accurate, compliant EMR documentation in a fast-growing outpatient practice.
Qualifications for the Neurology Nurse Practitioner (Outpatient):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
  • Licensure: Active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • Certification: Board certification as a Family, Adult, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of outpatient neurology experience required, with consideration for strong primary care or emergency medicine backgrounds that include neurological exposure.
  • Clinical Expertise: Skilled in independently managing seizures, headaches, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and general neurology conditions, with pediatric and adult experience preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong diagnostic reasoning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-growing practice with minimal supervision.
