Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, Oklahoma is seeking a motivated and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—APRN or PA—to join our dedicated Stroke Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a fast-paced, patient-centered neurology program with a strong focus on acute stroke care.
The Stroke APP plays a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing cerebrovascular events across the hospital and is central to the coordination of timely, evidence-based stroke treatment.
Job Responsibilities
• Work directly alongside the on-call stroke neurologist to assess, manage, and follow patients with acute stroke.
• Manage a daily census that ranges from 5 to 15 patients, depending on patient volume.
• Document assessments and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, neurologists, and stroke alert RNs.
• Comfort with evaluating stroke severity and administering TNK (tenecteplase) is essential; no procedural responsibilities are required.
• Participate in a culture of continuous learning and teamwork, with support from experienced neurologists and stroke nurses.
Qualifications
• Inpatient care experience strongly preferred. Prior experience with neurology or stroke patients is a significant plus.
• Passion for working with neuro/stroke patients and a strong desire to learn and grow within a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially during high-pressure stroke alerts.
Working Hours
• No on-call responsibilities during off weeks.
• One Stroke APP is scheduled per shift.
• Work in close collaboration with a team of 3–4 neurologists per day, one of whom is designated to cover stroke services.
• Office will be located on 7 Tower, where the neurology team is based; patients are typically located in TEC, 3T, 4T, and 7T, but may be located throughout the hospital.
