Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Neuroendovascular Surgery

Position Type:
Specialty: NP - Surgery - Neuroendovascular
Location: Detroit, MI.
Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: Days; 6 AM – 6 PM, in-house coverage
Start Date: August 2025
End Date: November 2025

Position Details:
Patient Population: All ages (0–99)
Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based; Level 1 Trauma Center with Comprehensive Stroke designation
Responsibilities: Rounding, consults, and postoperative care for neuroendovascular patients; no OR/First Assist; no procedural work except minor laceration suturing; autonomous practice with off-site supervising physician available 24/7
Required Procedures: Minor laceration repair (simple sutures)
EMR System: eCare/Cerner
Support Staff: Works autonomously; supervising physician on-call
Days Per Month: Estimated 240 hours in a 6-week schedule (2–3 shifts per week or more); weekend coverage every 4th week
On-Call/Weekends: No on-call; weekends every 4th week

Submission Requirements:

  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) – Required

  • Active Michigan License – Required

  • Clean Background – Required

  • BLS, ENLS, NIHSS – Required

  • Michigan-addressed DEA – Required (verbal confirmation acceptable)

  • Open to working 2–3 shifts per week or more – Required
