Job Responsibilities
• Perform inpatient nephrology consultations and hospital rounding
• Conduct daily dialysis rounding and manage acute and chronic dialysis patients
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing including laboratory and imaging studies
• Collaborate with nephrologists, dialysis staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with kidney disease
• Educate patients and families regarding disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license
• National certification (ANCC or AANP)
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing
• Valid DEA license
• Minimum 2 years of nephrology experience
• Experience providing both outpatient and inpatient nephrology care
• Knowledge of dialysis management and renal procedures
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
Preferred
• Experience with hospital rounding and dialysis management
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• BLS and ACLS certification
