Coverage Needed:
- September 2025 - ongoing
- 24 hour in house shifts, 7am-7am
- Extended shifts may be approved for 36-48 hr on individual site basis and as needed for extenuating circumstances
- Will cover 7 facilities in the surrounding areas
Clinical Details:
- Procedures to be performed: Neonatal intubations, Umbilical line placement, Needle chest thoracentesis, neonatal delivery attendance and resuscitation
- May also assist in Newborn service line as well
- Level 3 NICU coverage, rounding and managing NICU infants plus attendance of high risk deliveries and rounding in newborns
- Collaboration with Neo who rounds daily, provides out of house call and comes in to assist with management of critical infants as needed
- Daily patient volume: NICU census may vary from 4-5 up to 20, depending upon site
- Newborn census may vary from 4-5 up to 18, depending upon site
- Support Staff: nursing, RT, therapies, some sites have Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to assist with daily rounding on newborns
Required:
- Texas License
- TX DEA or easily transferrable one
- DEA must remain in state to maintain privileges. Provider must be willing transfer and maintain DEA in state for the duration of privileges being active, or obtain a new in state DEA to remain in state for the duration of privileges being active
- Must have Level 2 and Level 3 NICU experience
- Must be Board Certified- Neonatal Nurse Practitioner by the NCC (National Certification Corporation)
- Minimum 2 yrs experience as APRN, NNP-BCC
- Current NRP certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) & BLS required
- Case logs for endotracheal intubations and umbilical line placements for previous 12-18 months
- If available, case logs for needle thoracentesis, chest tubes, lumbar puncture, PAL and PICC lines
