Location: Hollywood, FL

Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent

Shift: Varied shifts across Level III & Level IV NICUs

Facility Type: Level IV NICU (covers 3 hospitals within 20–30 minutes)

Summary

A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is needed to join a leading Level IV NICU team in South Florida. The NNP will provide advanced care to high-acuity neonates across three hospitals within the healthcare system. This role requires strong clinical expertise, experience in neonatal critical care, and the ability to work in a high-volume, high-acuity environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to high-acuity neonates in Level IV and Level III NICUs.

  • Rotate between three hospitals within close driving distance.

  • Manage, assess, and treat critically ill newborns in collaboration with neonatologists.

  • Perform advanced neonatal procedures as permitted by scope and privileges.

  • Document clinical information accurately in EMR systems.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.

  • Participate in patient/family education and support throughout hospitalization.

  • Adhere to all neonatal safety, quality, and evidence-based practice standards.

  • Work a combination of 24-hour shifts (Level III) and 10-, 12-, or 16-hour shifts (Level IV).

  • Maintain all required credentials and participate in ongoing professional development.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing — required.

  • Board-Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) — required.

  • Florida NP License or willingness to obtain — required.

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on NNP experience (RN experience not included) — required.

  • DEA license prior to start — required.

  • Experience managing high-acuity neonatal patients in NICU settings.

  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Not accepting FNP, PNP, or other NP certifications.

  • Not accepting new graduates or locum candidates.
