ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to provide locum coverage supporting both Level II and Level III NICU environments. The role includes a mix of 24-hour in-house NICU shifts or 12-hour newborn/delivery shifts, attending high-risk deliveries, rounding on well newborns, and assisting the Level III NICU as needed. Ideal candidates are experienced NNPs who can work independently in acute neonatal settings and meet all credentialing requirements.

Schedule / Dates

• Shift Options:

  • 24-hour in-house NICU shifts

  • 12-hour NBN/Delivery shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.)

• Coverage Duties:

  • Attend high-risk deliveries

  • Rounds on well newborns

  • Assist Level III NICU as needed

  • Provide 2–4 hours of downtime coverage to 24-hour NNP in Level III NICU

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide care across Level II and Level III NICU settings.

• Perform 24-hour NICU coverage or 12-hour newborn/delivery shifts depending on rotation.

• Attend all high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal support.

• Conduct rounds on well newborns in the newborn nursery.

• Assist Level III NICU staff during peak or critical times.

• Offer downtime coverage for the 24-hour NNP in the Level III NICU.

• Maintain documentation and clinical performance aligned with facility standards and neonatal best practices.

• Comply with facility rate structures, conversion guidelines, and credentialing requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified NNP (Board-Eligible not accepted) – Required

• Active Colorado license or compact-eligible – Required

• Clinically active within the last year – Required

• Minimum 6 months of clinical neonatal specialty experience – Required
  

• CV in MM/YYYY format with all gaps explained – Required
  

• Current APRN national specialty certification – Required

• Minimum of a Master’s degree – Required

• Additional certification requirements: Board Certified, APRN national specialty certification

• State license requirement: Colorado
