Job Specifics

  • The Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is a 64-bed, private-room unit with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit, and a Small Baby Unit
  • Team consisting of our full-time neonatologists, nurse practitioners, residents, APP and physician fellows, nurses, respiratory therapists, and consultants from multiple specialties deliver the most advanced care to premature and high-risk infants. Rounding approach is family centered. Isolation facilities available.
  • Management of premature and high-risk infants including bedside invasive and non-invasive monitoring, conventional and high-frequency ventilation, and surgery in multiple specialties, including cardiac and neurology
  • Opportunity to perform procedures such as intubation, thoracentesis, PICC, arterial and umbilical lines as well as newborn resuscitation for all high-risk deliveries.
  • Additional opportunities to assist with transport of critical infants and to rotate to Level II nurseries in the OSF Health Care System
  • Shared governance opportunities available within the scope of Safety, Quality Improvement, Education, and Focused Unit Based and Hospital Wide Committees

POSITION SUMMARY: In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to corporate philosophy of OSFMG, the advanced practice nurse/physician assistant shall be responsible for: Providing high quality patient care to the patients of OSF. Providing such professional Advanced Practice services. Maintaining the consistency and quality of all services provided to the Practice and its patients. Maintaining full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed by Provider or other support staff. Exercising diligence in assisting the Ministry CEO in keeping costs of the Practice to a minimum while maintaining a high level of quality care for patients. Providing a truly personalized, patient-centric experience to patients of the Practice and the OSF Hospital aligned to the patient's preferences, goals and needs.
