Locum - Internal Medicine - NP

Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join a dynamic team in the heart of Houston, Texas, providing essential care to our nation's veterans. This role involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, contributing to the health and well-being of those who served.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
• Engage primarily through interview-based assessments with some required physical evaluations.
• Remain compliant with all necessary documentation and report submissions.
• Work on a PRN basis, with the flexibility of half-day (4-hour) and full-day (8-hour) shifts.
• Collaborate with veterans to evaluate their health and provide necessary assessments without prescribing or treating.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Experience in general medicine is preferred, with a strong consideration for backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery.
• Ability to effectively conduct interviews and physical assessments.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted nursing license.
• AANP certification required.
• Must have a personal laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
• Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
