Job description
Physician Services Group (PSG) is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide on-site behavioral health care within Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and long-term care facilities across the Camden, Sumter, and Columbia regions.
This position starts as part-time with strong potential to transition into a full-time role as new facility partnerships are added. Candidates should have strong psychiatric clinical experience and the ability to work independently within a facility setting.
Job Responsibilities
Initiate, manage, adjust, or discontinue psychiatric medications in accordance with SC Nurse Practice Act and Collaborative Practice Agreement.
Serve as the primary psychiatric provider at assigned SNF/ALF facilities.
Conduct evaluations for new admissions, follow-ups, and long-term care patients.
Provide psychotherapeutic counseling utilizing advanced techniques.
Collaborate with primary care teams, specialists, facility leadership, and families.
Maintain compliance documentation, including antipsychotic medication adherence and GDR requirements.
Work directly with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care delivery.
Address acute psychiatric issues and support facility management with urgent needs.
Complete all documentation in the EMR daily.
Perform E/M billing in alignment with PSG coding guidelines.
Partner with on-site medical assistants to ensure organized, high-quality care.
Maintain census expectations and participate in clinical improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
PMHNP certification preferred; ANCC/AANP with psych experience accepted.
Active South Carolina NP license required.
Current RN license and applicable certifications.
Strong psychiatric clinical background, including psychosis, delirium, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
Experience initiating and managing psychiatric medications.
Ability to recognize and resolve acute psychiatric issues.
Previous EMR experience required.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
CME must be up to date.
Working Hours
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Part-time to start, with growth potential into full-time
