Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Although the position is based in one of America’s most vibrant cities, the work you will do involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in various locations. We are looking for passionate healthcare providers who meet the needs of veterans with professionalism and care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
• Perform primarily interview-based examinations with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of examinations and findings.
• Provide assessments without prescribing medications or treatments.
• Participate in quick credentialing and onboarding processes.
• Work on a PRN basis, with flexible options for half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Own a laptop (non-Mac/Apple products).
• Must have AANP certification.
• Hold an active and unrestricted nursing license.
• Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
• Current home address needs to be listed for presentation purposes.

License & Certification Requirements:

• Active nursing license in Alaska.
• AANP certification is mandatory.
• DMA certification required upon completion of training.
