Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join a dedicated team offering essential healthcare services to our nation's Veterans! This locum position is based in Houston, Arkansas, providing an exciting opportunity for Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.

Our facility is committed to enhancing the lives of Veterans, ensuring they receive top-notch evaluations in a supportive environment. We have two coverage options available: working at a local VES facility or in your own practice office, provided you meet the geographical requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams.
• Perform separation health assessments primarily through interviews and some physical evaluations.
• Utilize testing methods including range of motion and muscle strength assessments.
• Complete administrative tasks related to exams, reports, and addendums efficiently.
• Work on a PRN basis with flexibility for half-day or full-day shifts.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular health.
• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
• Ability to work independently in your own office setting if applicable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted full nurse practitioner license in Arkansas.
• Certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
• Willingness to complete DMA training to become DMA certified.
• Possession of a personal laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
