Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join our team as a General Medicine Provider in Houston, KY! We are dedicated to serving our nation’s Veterans by performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing for half-day or full-day shifts based on your availability.

This position can be fulfilled either at a local VES facility or your own office, as long as it is within a 50-mile radius of the listed city. Become a key player in a compassionate environment where your expertise makes a significant impact!

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
• Perform interview-based assessments with a focus on physical evaluations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Complete reports and submit addendums post-exam.
• Maintain proficiency in METs testing and the evaluation and diagnosis of respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Work PRN, with the option to choose between half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts.
• Collaborate with Veterans to understand their health needs in a supportive environment.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky.
• Certifications from AANP.
• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
• Strong ability to evaluate and diagnose respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Must own a functioning laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
• Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Current and active Nurse Practitioner license (Kentucky).
• AANP certification required.
• Proficiency in METs testing and relevant medical evaluations.
