Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine
Join our team of dedicated General Medicine Providers in Houston, Texas. As a Locum Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation’s Veterans. This position allows for flexible work arrangements either at a VES facility within a 50-mile radius or in your own office.
Practice Overview: Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a recognized government contractor, is committed to providing essential healthcare support to Veterans. This role emphasizes non-treatment C&P exams and is ideal for professionals with a strong background in general medicine.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete necessary administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics.
- Work on a PRN basis, with options for half-day or full-day shifts.
- Quickly credential and onboard to begin responsibilities promptly.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- At least 1 year of experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold an active and unrestricted full license in Maine.
- AANP certification is required.
- Must be willing to complete DMA training to achieve certification.
- Have access to a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
