Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join a dedicated team providing essential healthcare services across the United States! We are seeking Nurse Practitioners specializing in General Medicine to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role offers the flexibility of work within your own office or at a participating VES facility, provided you are within a 50-mile radius of the service area. The city of Houston, Michigan, is thriving with an array of amenities and a supportive community ideal for healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Compensation and Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
  • Perform primarily interview-based examinations with essential physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
  • Complete required administrative tasks including report submissions and necessary addendums.
  • Work on a PRN basis with options to work half or full-day shifts.
  • Engage with Veterans in a supportive and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Michigan.
  • Proficiency in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery is preferred.
  • Ability to perform non-treatment Compensation and Pensions exams.
  • Must have access to a laptop (non-Mac/Apple products).

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Must hold a current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Michigan.
  • Certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is required.
  • Willingness to complete necessary training to become DMA certified.
