Locum - Internal Medicine - NP

Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join a dedicated team providing essential medical services for our nation's veterans in the vibrant city of Houston, TX. This position involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans in a supportive and professional environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
• Perform primarily interview-based examinations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• No prescribing or treatment required.
• Complete necessary reports and any required addendums promptly.
• Participate in quick credentialing and onboarding processes.
• Work on a PRN basis, with flexibility for half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts.
• Offer services from your own office or within a designated radius of the city.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Nevada.
• AANP certification.
• Proficient in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery.
• Must have access to a laptop for documentation (no Mac/Apple products).
• Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
• Ability to provide clinic space within the specified distance of the city.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Must hold a valid and active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Nevada.
• AANP certification is required.
• DMA certification willingness is necessary.
• Active military duty, reserves, or VA employment status may be requested.
