Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine
Join a dedicated team helping our nation's Veterans! We are seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in Houston, VA. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a flexible, PRN capacity. Our practice is focused on the evaluation of Veterans, ensuring they receive the proper assessments without prescribing or treating.
The ideal candidates will provide services either in their own office or at a designated facility. The practice environment emphasizes compassion and efficiency, with quick credentialing and onboarding procedures in place to support our providers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based examinations, including physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete required documentation and reports accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with staff and support personnel.
- Participate in ongoing training and evaluations as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
- Proficient in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia.
- AANP certification required.
- Must be willing to complete DMA training to become DMA certified.
- Own a laptop (non-Mac) for required assessments.
