Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

We are seeking experienced General Medicine Providers to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across the United States. This role provides a valuable service to our nation's Veterans, ensuring that they receive the assessments they deserve.

Join a dedicated team at a facility that focuses on Veteran care, contributing to the health and well-being of those who have served. You will have the flexibility to work either per diem at designated facilities or from your own office, provided it is located within 50 miles of the specified city. Enhanced credentialing and onboarding processes will ensure you’re ready to make a difference quickly.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
  • Perform primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Provide assessments without prescribing or treating patients.
  • Complete required documentation including reports and addendums efficiently.
  • Participate in ongoing training and compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal care for Veterans.

Qualifications:

  • Proven proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Must own a laptop (non-Mac/Apple products).
  • Hold an active certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Possess an active and unrestricted full state license.
  • Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
  • Previous experience in general medicine or related specialties is preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted Virginia state license (compact status is not applicable).
  • Certification with AANP is required.
  • Completion of specific training and certification for assessments (DMA certification).
