About this role.

As an Advanced Practice Provider in Hyperbaric & Wound Care, you will work with three other Providers to provide top-notch care and patient experience. Throughout the day, you will collaborate with and be supported by Physicians, Registered Nurses, and Wound Care Technicians. Expect to see approximately 12-15 patients per day. We have five exam rooms, typically scheduling three patients per hour. We see a wide range of patient age groups with non-healing wounds.

  • You will practice at Cedar City Hospital three days a week and at Garfield Memorial Hospital one day a week
  • Once hyperbaric call is established at St. George Regional Hospital, you will be on call one week per month
  • Your hours will be 4 10-hour weekday shifts

What you'll bring.

  • Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP)
  • Prior experience in hyperbarics and/or wound care is highly desirable

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- and -
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- and -
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- and -
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
