Locums – Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan (Upper Peninsula) – NP/PA Hospitalist Job

• Seeking a board certified nurse practitioner or physician assistant

• Must have 6+ months of post-training experience as an NP/PA in hospital medicine

• Seeking coverage as soon as credentialed, with ongoing needs

• Current night coverage begins November 9, 2026

• 7 on / 7 off schedule

• Night shifts: 7p-7a

• Supervising physician support available

• On-call physician available within 20 minutes

• EMR and dictation: Epic/Dragon

• ACLS and BLS required

• Must provide 50 case logs from the past 12 months

• Credentialing typically takes 30 days, with applications prioritized according to start date

Current Coverage Needs:

• November 9-15, 2026

• November 23-29, 2026

• December 7-13, 2026

• December 21-27, 2026

Cases and Procedures:

• Indirect laryngoscopy intubation

• Endotracheal intubation and extubation

• Ventilator management, including assessment of intubation needs, readiness for weaning, oxygen therapy, and extubation

• Central venous catheter placement and management

• Arterial catheter placement and management

• Arterial and central venous line insertion, either percutaneously or by cutdown

• Radial and femoral arterial line insertion and removal

• Moderate sedation

• Lumbar puncture

• Chest tube insertion

• Tracheostomy care, including tube changes

• Temporary pacing management, including adjustment of epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers as needed

• Emergency management of tension pneumothorax

• Paracentesis
