Join Our Team as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner

Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing exceptional inpatient care? We are seeking a highly skilled Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive medical services in a vibrant hospital setting. This vital role offers the opportunity to work night shifts, collaborate with a dedicated team, and make a meaningful difference in patient lives.

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating acutely ill adult patients, coordinating care, interpreting diagnostic tests, and communicating effectively with primary care physicians. You'll work night shifts from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with approximately one week of coverage per month, and call is not required. The hospital features 109 beds with a patient ratio of 1:10-15, handling a wide variety of medical problems in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • NY State License in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient experience
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Proficient in charting using EPIC
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with Pixys automated medication system
  • Prior experience in a Level 1 Perinatal Center, Primary Stroke Center, or DNV Accredited Facility
  • Knowledge of hospital workflows and policies

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Prior hospital-based practice experience, especially in adult acute care

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work night shifts consistently
  • Dress professionally according to specified standards
  • Leave cell phones in lockers during shifts
  • Adhere to hospital policies on tattoos, piercings, grooming, and safety
  • Must be comfortable working with adult patients with diverse medical conditions
  • Willingness to respond to call with a 2-hour notice when needed
