Role Description

This is a full-time role for Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioners (Hospitalist NPs) at Doctors of Clinical Specialties (DOCS Hospitalists). The role is open at our affiliate facilities in the following locations: Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, and Orlando, however this posting is for the dedicated day time NP position at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs.

Job Responsibilities

The Internal Medicine NP will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients, including receiving phone calls from the ED on new admissions, evaluating and treating medical conditions, ordering diagnostics and treatments, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, participating in multi-discliplinary rounds (MDRs) and associated duties in accordance with the usual standard of practice of a Hospitalist NP.

Qualifications

Active, unrestricted and valid RN license in the state of Florida
Completion of a graduate-level program in advanced practice nursing
Hold current national certification in a relevant specialty, such as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, from an approved certifying body like the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

Working Hours

180 shifts/year.
Day shifts. The physicians are on a round and go model and the NPs assist them with admissions, follow ups, discharges, and participation in MDRs. Admission phone needs to be held from 7a-7p

Skills

Strong clinical skills and a passion for quality patient care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a growing, agile, team-based environment
Experience with various electronic medical records (EMR) systems (especially Epic and eClinicalWorks)
Attention to detail, adaptability, and strong organizational skills
Experience in hospital-based committees or a desire to pursue growth within an value-based care organization is a huge plus.
