Job description
We are seeking two experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to support its Hospitalist service. This is a locum tenens assignment focused on night shift inpatient coverage. Providers will handle patient evaluations for changes in condition and support ongoing hospitalist operations. This role is non-procedural, and there is no call requirement.
- Provide inpatient hospitalist coverage on night shifts
- Respond promptly to acute changes in patient condition
- Evaluate, manage, and document care of unassigned patients
- Work collaboratively with on-site physicians, APPs, and hospital staff
- Handle patient admissions as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant
- Must be licensed in Pennsylvania (no IMLC accepted)
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum: Board Eligible
- Prior inpatient experience strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable with high-volume patient care (30–45 patients per shift across team)
- No procedures required
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple acute cases simultaneously
- Clear, effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
- Proficient in Cerner EMR (or quick adaptability)
- Comfortable in a Level 1 trauma and Level 1 pediatric care setting
Job Responsibilities

Working Hours
No guaranteed hours; OT must be approved in advance by Practice Admin
Providers must clock out for lunch (not included in total hours)
