Seeking Experienced Hospitalist/OBS/PAT Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

  • This position will float between Summa Health System Akron HM and PAT departments and Barberton Obs and HM departments.

SUMMA AKRON

  • HOSPITALIST SERVICE
    • Average Daily Encounters: 219
    • 15-20 per physician
    • Seven-day physician coverage; one swing shift APP; one nocturnist per day
    • Scheduling is seven days on; seven days off
    • Teach Med Team several weeks per quarter

  • HOSPITALIST SERVICES
    • Average Daily Encounters: 82
    • Four-five physicians, one APP daily, seven days on/ seven days off; one swing shift APP, seven days on/seven off; one nocturnist per day
    • Scheduling 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for day APP & MD; 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. for swing APP, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for nocturnist
  • OBSERVATION SERVICES
    • Annual patient volume of 3,000
    • 10-bed unit
    • Unit runs adjacent to ED
    • EPIC EMR
    • 16-hour coverage and overnight ED physician coverage
    • Units close proximity to ED is a benefit to having on-site physician backup and ease of consultation/collaboration
  • HOSPITAL
    • Medium-sized, full-service community hospital situated in a southern suburban area of Akron, Ohio
    • The modern facility is well-equipped with recent renovations, including newly renovated ED
    • Very responsive back-up maintains good rapport with the Emergency Department and represents all specialties; only major trauma and severe pediatric cases are transferred; excellent support when needed is just minutes away at Akron Children’s Hospital
