Position: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Hospitalist

Location: Harrisburg, Illinois

Job Description: As an APP Hospitalist at Harrisburg Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to our patients. Working under the supervision of our physician hospitalists, you will have the opportunity to manage patient care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Details:

• Patient Load: Average of 9 patients per day
• Physician Tele-Oversight: Collaborative oversight from physician hospitalists
• EMR: EPIC
• Hospital Capacity: 71 beds, including an open ICU (hospitalists round on ICU patients)
• Shifts: 24-hour shifts (rounding plus call)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physician hospitalists.
• Provide ongoing patient monitoring, management of acute and chronic conditions, and coordination of care transitions.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice, including but not limited to, venipuncture, arterial line insertion, and lumbar puncture.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.

Requirements:

• FNP/ PA Certification Required
• Active, unrestricted license to practice in Illinois
• DEA/ CSL- Required
• ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) - Required
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
