Our client is hiring Adult Nurse Practitioners (NPs) at a renowned nonprofit specialty hospital in the Bronx that exclusively provides palliative and end-of-life care to adult patients with advanced illness.
The hospital is expanding its medical team in response to upcoming retirements and a shift toward a collaborative care model where NPs play a central role in patient management alongside physicians.


Highlights of the Role:

  • Position: Full-time Adult NP (AGNP preferred; FNPs with relevant experience encouraged to apply)
  • Salary: $150,000–$180,000 annually, with additional incentive opportunities
  • Schedule: 36.25-hour workweek, rotating day and evening call; exempt position
  • Growth: Currently 3 full-time NPs, actively hiring 4 more, with plans to grow the team to 14
  • Credentialing: Approximately 2 months; onboarding approval required by the Board
  • Technology: Meditech EMR
  • Experience: RN background in oncology, hospice, or palliative care strongly preferred; new NP grads with this experience are welcome

Job Responsibilities

Setting: Inpatient palliative and hospice care; average NP panel ~20 patients
Team Model: Each unit is covered by a team of 1 physician and 2 NPs

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in initiating and completing complicated projects.
• Advanced degrees related to healthcare administration and/or regulation (e.g. CPA, MBA, JD) or substantially relevant experience in these fields preferred.
• 3600 hours experience in hospital, inpatient hospice, medical-surgical, community-based Hospice, or palliative care setting as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Competent to care for patients in the advanced stage of disease.
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Working Hours

Schedule: 36.25-hour workweek, rotating day and evening call; exempt position

Skills

Experience: RN background in oncology, hospice, or palliative care strongly preferred; new NP grads with this experience are welcome

Hospice and Palliative care experience either as an NP or an RN.
