Locums – Greenville, South Carolina | NP Oncology Opportunity

Clinical Role

Join a well-established cancer center providing comprehensive hematology and oncology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NP seeking a balanced role with clinic, rounding, and light call responsibilities.

Coverage Dates: ASAP – end of September

Position Highlights:

• Free-standing cancer center with strong physician and APP support

• Balanced mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding

• Manage both benign hematology and malignant oncology cases

• Collaborative care model with dedicated oncology nursing staff

Schedule & Coverage

• Outpatient clinic + inpatient rounding responsibilities

• Call schedule:

  • Tuesday: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM

  • Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM (includes weekend rounding)

• Weekend responsibilities: On-site inpatient rounding (Saturday & Sunday)

• Call rotation: Approximately every 5–6 weeks

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Patient population: Adult & geriatric

• Case mix:

  • 65% benign hematology

  • 35% malignant oncology

Patient Volume:

• Outpatient: ~15 patients per day

• Inpatient (rounding/call): ~20 patients per day

Responsibilities Include:

• Management of bone marrow transplant patients

• Blood bank coordination

• Ordering labs, imaging, and treatments

• Prescribing medications

• Chemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staff

Support & Technology:

• 8 physicians and 4 APPs in the practice

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology

• Active South Carolina license required (or willing to obtain)

• BLS certification required

• DEA required
