Job Summary

Geisinger Gastroenterology seeks a Hepatology-focused Advanced Practitioner for our team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Specialty Clinic in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania.

Job Duties

Join an established multidisciplinary team of Hepatologists, Gastroenterologists, Transplant Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Advanced Practitioners, and nursing staff dedicated to delivering comprehensive liver care.

This position will perform in collaboration with physicians to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with complex liver disease, including cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and pre- and post-liver transplant management. The Advanced Practitioner will play a key role in coordinating care across specialties, ensuring seamless communication between Hepatology, Transplant Surgery, and Interventional Radiology teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include gathering clinical data, implementing therapeutic plans, and functioning as a patient advocate in the medical care system—serving as confidant, advisor, and liaison between patients, families, and physicians.

The role reports clinically to the Director of GI and administratively to the Chief Advanced Practitioner.

Geisinger providers receive a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including malpractice coverage with tail, paid relocation, generous CME time and allowance, and much more. In addition to a competitive salary, providers enjoy ample paid time off to allow for a rewarding work/life balance. From senior management on down, we foster an atmosphere of collaboration, cooperation, and collegiality.

This position offers the Advanced Practitioner the opportunity to work in both clinic and hospital settings, alternating between outpatient Hepatology visits and inpatient consults, including participation in multidisciplinary liver care rounds.
