We are partnering with a reputable rural health clinic in Chowchilla, California to find an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing primary care team. This is a full-time opportunity for a clinician with strong primary care experience who is ready to make a meaningful impact in an underserved rural community.
Position Details
- Setting: Outpatient Rural Health Clinic — Primary Care
- Patient Population: Children and adults — general and preventative care
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Patient Volume: 18–22 patients per 8-hour workday, including office, telehealth, and walk-in patients
- Location: Chowchilla, CA
- Pay Rate: $90.00 – $95.00 per hour

About the Role
The Family Nurse Practitioner promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician. You will provide both children and adults with general and preventative care, perform check-ups, treat illnesses, request lab testing, and prescribe medications. Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under physician supervision
- See 18–22 patients per 8-hour workday across office, telehealth, and walk-in visits
- Contribute to the physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues, providing information and recommendations, and implementing physician directives
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining/updating medical histories
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests (X-rays, EKGs, lab studies) and interpreting results
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Perform therapeutic procedures including administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections
- Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, growth and development, family planning, and wellness/health maintenance
- Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and professional networking
- Support the development of the broader healthcare team
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience — required
- Primary care experience — preferred
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license — required
- Active DEA license without restrictions — required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
- Experience with EMR/EHR platforms — preferred
- Must be a team player who collaborates effectively with providers, clinical staff, and administration
