• Patient Load: ICU: typically 6 patients (overflow possible); Floor: up to 12–14 patients

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active license as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the U.S.; state-specific licensure requirements apply
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience in an acute care or neurocritical care setting (ICU NP or PA experience required)
• Trauma experience highly preferred for Neuro Critical Care patients
• Experience with central and arterial line placement ideal (preferred, not required)
• Familiarity with EPIC (Penn charting) preferred
• Ability to participate in self-scheduling covering day, night, and weekend shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice care for neurocritical patients in the Neuro ICU and neurosurgery floor
• Manage assigned patient load (ICU: ~6; Floor: up to 12–14) and prioritize care in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Perform or assist with procedures such as central and arterial line placement when indicated (preferred)
• Collaborate closely with APP Neuro Critical Care fellows, critical care attendings, residents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient care and orders using EPIC (Penn Charting) and ensure accurate, timely charting
• Participate in self-scheduling and ensure consistent coverage across days, nights, and weekends
