ICU Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) / Physician Assistant (Neuro Critical Care) – Philadelphia, PA

- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shifts: 13-hour shifts (5:30a-6:30p, 5:30p-6:30a); flexible self-scheduling model; must be willing to work day/night and minimum 2 weekends per month
- Patient Load: ICU: typically 6 patients (overflow possible); Floor: up to 12–14 patients
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active license as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the U.S.; state-specific licensure requirements apply
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience in an acute care or neurocritical care setting (ICU NP or PA experience required)
- Trauma experience highly preferred for Neuro Critical Care patients
- Experience with central and arterial line placement ideal (preferred, not required)
- Familiarity with EPIC (Penn charting) preferred
- Ability to participate in self-scheduling covering day, night, and weekend shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced practice care for neurocritical patients in the Neuro ICU and neurosurgery floor
- Manage assigned patient load (ICU: ~6; Floor: up to 12–14) and prioritize care in a fast-paced critical care environment
- Perform or assist with procedures such as central and arterial line placement when indicated (preferred)
- Collaborate closely with APP Neuro Critical Care fellows, critical care attendings, residents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document patient care and orders using EPIC (Penn Charting) and ensure accurate, timely charting
- Participate in self-scheduling and ensure consistent coverage across days, nights, and weekends
