Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or relevant general medicine specialty
- Prior experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessment-based roles
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with a focus on detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of veterans’ healthcare needs and standards (preferred)
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working with veteran populations
- Familiarity with government or military healthcare systems
- Experience with clinical documentation, report submission, and administrative follow-up
- Bilingual capabilities (preferred but not mandatory)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or related healthcare field
- Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Prior experience performing compensation and pension examinations or assessments is highly desirable
Other Requirements:
- Must own or have access to a private office within 50 miles of Lake City, FL for conduct of exams
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis, with options for half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts
- Ability to complete exams efficiently and accurately within scheduled timeframes
- Credentialing and onboarding will be expedited for qualified candidates
- No prescribing or treatment is involved; role focuses on assessments and documentation
- Local candidates only; travel included in rates
- Regular administrative follow-up (addendums, reports) required but not additionally compensated outside the specified rates
- Ability to work independently at your own facility or VES location if within 50 miles
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $402.00
- Flat Rate: $600 for 4-hour half-day shifts
- Flat Rate: $1200 for full-day shifts of 5 hours or more
- One-Time Bonus: $650 for completing initial training and performing first exams
- Weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), paid sick time, and a robust referral bonus program are included.
