A healthcare facility is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical coverage within an inpatient behavioral health unit. This opportunity supports a multidisciplinary psychiatric care team and focuses on medical management and routine healthcare needs for patients admitted to the psychiatric service.
The provider will care for patients ranging from adolescents to elderly adults, though the majority of the patient population consists of adults receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment. The nurse practitioner will address general medical concerns, perform evaluations, and collaborate closely with psychiatric providers and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
This position is expected to support the facility long term, with coverage needs projected for approximately one year.
Job Responsibilities
Qualifications
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience required
• Must meet Massachusetts requirements to practice independently
• Experience working with behavioral health or complex patient populations preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training required
Working Hours
The facility anticipates full time coverage needs, with the assignment expected to continue for approximately one year.

• Medical evaluations and routine health assessments for psychiatric inpatients
• Management of chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma
• Coordination of care with psychiatry, nursing, and behavioral health teams
• Medication management and monitoring of medical conditions during psychiatric admission

• Crisis awareness and de escalation principles consistent with CPI training
