A healthcare facility is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical coverage within an inpatient behavioral health unit. This opportunity supports a multidisciplinary psychiatric care team and focuses on medical management and routine healthcare needs for patients admitted to the psychiatric service.

The provider will care for patients ranging from adolescents to elderly adults, though the majority of the patient population consists of adults receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment. The nurse practitioner will address general medical concerns, perform evaluations, and collaborate closely with psychiatric providers and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.

This position is expected to support the facility long term, with coverage needs projected for approximately one year.

Job Responsibilities

The nurse practitioner will provide medical care to patients admitted to an inpatient psychiatric unit, addressing routine medical needs and supporting overall patient wellness during their psychiatric hospitalization. Responsibilities include conducting medical evaluations, managing chronic medical conditions, responding to routine medical concerns, and coordinating care with psychiatric providers and nursing staff. The provider will treat patients across a broad age range, beginning at age ten through elderly adults, though most patients will be adults. The role requires strong collaboration with the behavioral health team to ensure safe and coordinated care within the inpatient psychiatric environment.

Qualifications

• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience required
• Must meet Massachusetts requirements to practice independently
• Experience working with behavioral health or complex patient populations preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training required

Working Hours

Coverage is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

The facility anticipates full time coverage needs, with the assignment expected to continue for approximately one year.
