Job Title: Correctional Nurse Practitioner – Region 1
Location: Lima, OH
Shift: Weekdays, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible based on operational needs)
Duration: Minimum 3 months, potential extension based on need and performance
Hours/Week: 40

Job Summary
Seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio with at least one year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine. The NP will provide on-site primary care services to the adult male population in a correctional facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor chronic illnesses and intervene according to facility policies and protocols.
• Administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and provide treatment for acute and chronic conditions; perform minor procedures as trained and competent.
• Conduct routine physical exams to assess chronic conditions and diagnose new health issues.
• Evaluate the need for specialty referrals and review consult reports, approving or coordinating as appropriate.
• Order and interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests.
• Assist leadership in completing medical reclassification and non-formulary medication requests.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled.
• Conduct patient rounds and document medical information in accordance with policies, protocols, and applicable standards.
• Collaborate with medical leadership for quality oversight and incorporate feedback into patient care.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license.
• Master’s degree in nursing.
• At least one year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine.
• Certification: Healthcare professional-level BLS/CPR, ANCC board certification, and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.
• Knowledge of chronic and acute disease management, minor procedures, and primary care protocols.
• Ability to document care accurately and comply with regulatory standards.

Additional Requirements
• Must provide complete credentialing documentation including resume, education, work history, license, certifications, and required medical clearances prior to start date.
• Start date contingent on submission and verification of all required credentials and screenings.
