Join us as a Primary Care Provider at the Montevideo Community-Based Outpatient Clinic located in Montevideo, MN.

Period of Performance: 1-year base period 2/16/2026-2/15/2027 w/ option to extend up to 6 months.


Job Responsibilities

• Provide Primary Medicine services in team-based, patient-centered care including:
o Preventative care
o Acute care
o Chronic Disease Management
o Health and wellness
o Diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, care management, and consultation.
o Be present and on time for any scheduled clinics.
o Prescribe medications
o Provide discharge education
o Communicate test results

Qualifications

• Education. MD/DO, ARNP, or PA degree required.
• Licensure and certification. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BC/BE by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Family Medicine. BLS or ACLS required. DEA and NPI required.
• Experience. Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements.
• English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
• Subject to background/security investigation.
• All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination.
• Complete an online onboarding process.
• May be required to complete a probationary period.
• Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Working Hours

Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri, with additional mutually agreed upon hours. No federal holidays.
• Care is to be provided at 80 hours per week plus up to 5 hours weekly beyond normal tour of duty.
• Patient care appointments are scheduled. Average workload is an average of 12 patients per day varying between 30-60 minute appointment times. Assessment of walk-in outpatient veterans varies in workload but is required in the PACT responsibility of duties.
