NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Eden, NC clinic in a full-time role.

About NextCare

NextCare is one of the largest urgent care organizations in the country, operating over 165 clinics across 11 states. Our model is primarily urgent care with a small occupational medicine component and is designed to support provider autonomy, efficiency, and high-quality patient care.

Position Details

  • Full-time schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week

  • Clinic hours typically 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, including rotating weekends

  • Assigned home clinic with opportunity to support nearby locations as needed

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting

  • Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and injuries

  • Perform common urgent care procedures including suturing, wound care, splinting, and I&Ds

  • Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and labs

  • Provide clear treatment plans and follow-up instructions

  • Document care accurately in the electronic medical record

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining clinical efficiency

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina (or eligible)

  • Minimum 1–2 years of urgent care or emergency medicine experience required

    • No new graduates at this time

  • Comfortable practicing independently in a fast-paced environment

  • DEA license (or ability to obtain)

  • DOT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain; training provided)

  • BLS required
