Family medicine nurse practitioner opportunity at an inpatient behavioral health hospital in Alaska, caring for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and substance-use disorders

7-on/7-off block schedule with 10-hour shifts; full-time, benefits-eligible role

Inpatient-only setting with a focus on holistic, integrated medical and behavioral health care

Significant professional autonomy managing assessments, diagnostics, treatment plans, and follow-up care

Responsibilities include initial medical admissions evaluations and H&Ps (within 24 hours of admission), follow-up visits, diagnostics, and discharge planning for patients ages 5+

Close collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing both medical and mental health needs

Co-management of patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers

Patient and family education on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes to support overall health

Medical consultations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending treatments within scope

Provide emergency medical care within licensure scope until specialty care is available

Active or eligible Alaska NP/APRN license required

Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program

AANPCB board certification required

Minimum 1 year of post-training inpatient or acute care experience preferred; behavioral health experience a plus
