Job Title: Correctional Nurse Practitioner – Region 6
Location: Grafton, OH
Shift: Weekdays, flexible start/end times
Duration: At least 4 months from projected start date
Hours/Week: 40
Minimum Education: Master’s Degree
Job Summary:
Seeking a licensed Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with at least one year of experience in primary care or hospital medicine to provide on-site primary care services in a correctional healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and intervene in the course of chronic illnesses using established policies and protocols.
• Administer vaccines, prescribe medications, and treat acute and chronic conditions; perform minor procedures as trained and competent.
• Conduct routine physical exams to assess chronic condition control and identify new medical conditions.
• Evaluate the need for specialty consultations and review consultation reports, approving or disapproving recommendations as appropriate.
• Order and review laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Facilitate completion of medical reclassifications and requests for non-formulary medications as necessary.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care according to schedule.
• Conduct patient rounds in the infirmary as needed.
• Document patient assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up parameters according to professional guidelines and standards.
• Cooperate with medical quality oversight and accept guidance and redirection from supervising medical staff.
Requirements:
• Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Ohio.
• Board certification and healthcare-professional level BLS/CPR certification.
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification, if applicable.
• Minimum of one year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine.
• Ability to submit a comprehensive resume including education, training, and work history.
• Willingness to comply with required pre-employment screenings (drug and TB tests).
