Job Title: Correctional Nurse Practitioner – Region 2
Location: Lebanon, OH 45036
Schedule: Weekdays only (no evenings, weekends, or holidays)
Hours/Week: 40
Duration: 3 + Months (Possibility of extension)
Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner to provide full-time, on-site medical services to the male population at a correctional facility in Lebanon, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Nurse Practitioner experience in a primary care setting. Start and end times may vary slightly based on operational needs. An on-site interview is required.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and manage chronic illnesses in accordance with established clinical policies and protocols.
• Administer immunizations and vaccines against communicable diseases.
• Prescribe medications and provide treatment for acute and chronic conditions; perform minor procedures within training and competency.
• Conduct routine physical examinations to assess chronic conditions and diagnose new medical issues.
• Evaluate the need for specialty referrals and review consultation reports, approving or disapproving recommendations as appropriate.
• Order and review laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate medical reclassification and requests for non-formulary medications in collaboration with medical leadership.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled.
• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients within the scope of practice defined by the State of Ohio Nursing Board.
• Conduct infirmary rounds as directed by medical leadership.
• Document patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up in compliance with correctional healthcare standards and applicable accreditation guidelines.
• Participate in medical quality oversight and accept clinical guidance and feedback.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license.
• Board certification (Family or Adult-Gerontology NP).
• Minimum of one year of NP experience in primary care.
• Current healthcare-level BLS/CPR certification.
• DEA registration (as required for assignment).
