Job description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Forest City, CA. This role is essential in delivering high-quality clinical care, preventive services, and health education to promote employee wellness and workplace safety. The ideal candidate is skilled in both clinical practice and patient engagement, with a strong commitment to accuracy, communication, and compassionate care.
Job Responsibilities
Perform clinical procedures including injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
Develop and implement patient care plans; evaluate progress to ensure continuity of care.
Educate patients on treatment plans, health maintenance strategies, and overall wellness.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide holistic care.
Prescribe or recommend appropriate treatments, medications, and therapeutic interventions.
Refer patients to physicians or specialists when necessary for additional care.
Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient health records.
Coach and educate nursing staff on clinical best practices and occupational health standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care excellence.
Qualifications
State Prescriptive Authority (as applicable).
Federal DEA License (must match each state of practice as applicable).
State Narcotic/Controlled Substance License where required.
Current national certification through ANCC or AANP.
Master’s Degree in Science of Nursing (transcripts required if degree title does not specify Nursing).
Current hands-on certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA, ARC, or equivalent.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on contract scope.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience in occupational health, urgent care, primary care, or related clinical settings.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-education skills.
Ability to work independently while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
Collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.
