Job description We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner for a 180-day locum tenens assignment in Alaska, starting Feb 16, 2026. This role offers day shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM with on-call responsibilities, requiring comfort as a sole provider in a fast-paced environment at certain times of the year.

  • May 18 - Jun 12: 26 days
  • Jun 29 - Jul 31: 33 days
  • Aug 24 - Sep 18: 26 days
  • Oct 12 - Nov 5: 25 days
  • Nov 23 - Dec 17: 25 days

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assess patients and provide comprehensive care
  • Manage patient care independently, especially when acting as sole provider
  • Adapt to fast-paced environments, with seasonal variations in patient volume
  • Complete orientation (typically 3 days) if new to the client
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management

Additional Information
  • Active Alaska nurse practitioner license required
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certification required
  • Prefer at least 2 years of experience, ideally with experience as a sole provider or high comfort level in that capacity
