Amergis is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join their healthcare team in Tabor City, NC. This role involves delivering comprehensive primary and urgent care to adult male patients in a secure correctional setting. The provider will work closely with other APPs to manage chronic conditions, perform evaluations, and maintain accurate documentation using the HERO EMR system. The position offers a consistent weekday schedule, competitive compensation, and full benefits, with a strong preference for candidates seeking long-term placement. Ideal candidates will be fully licensed in North Carolina and comfortable working in a correctional healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver primary care services to adult male patients in a correctional facility.
• Provide urgent care for minor injuries and acute conditions.
• Manage chronic health conditions through ongoing treatment and monitoring.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and document in the HERO EMR system.
• Collaborate with two other APPs and facility staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with correctional healthcare protocols and safety standards.
• Participate in onboarding and orientation processes as required by the facility.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation and credentialing materials.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted North Carolina state license.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Valid DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a relevant setting.
• Willingness to work in a correctional medicine environment.
• Ability to manage a daily patient volume of 12–15 adults.
• Must complete background check and onboarding steps prior to submission.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday; 8am -5pm
