Location: Roxboro, NC

Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join our urgent care team in a full-time, permanent capacity through a locum-to-permanent arrangement. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing a diverse patient demographic, including both adult and pediatric patients, and comfortable functioning autonomously in a fast-paced urgent care setting. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified providers seeking a stable, full-time position with career development potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive urgent care services to adult and pediatric patients (ages 6 months and up), including minor procedures such as incision and drainage, laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other minor interventions.
  • Manage a patient volume typically averaging around 20 patients per day, with peaks up to 40, depending on the site.
  • Use Epic EMR for all patient documentation and order entry, following initial training.
  • Conduct assessments, diagnose, treat, and initiate appropriate follow-up care independently, acting as the sole provider during shifts.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including center managers, medical assistants, and physician supervisors, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Adhere to all clinical and safety standards, maintaining compliance with board certification requirements and licensure.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 12 months of previous clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice.
  • Board certification in PA (NCCPA) or Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Current BLS certification. Additional certifications in specific procedures or specialties are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR or similar electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to independently see and treat all patients in the center.
  • Strong soft skills, including excellent communication, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively with support staff and patients.
  • Willingness to work at multiple sites within a 65-mile radius, supporting various locations as needed.
  • No supervision requirements; a supervising physician is provided by the organization.
  • Must not be a recent graduate; at least 12 months of relevant experience is required.

Additional Details:
  • This position is for full-time employment with a locum-to-permanent pathway, offering stability and ongoing career advancement.
  • No travel reimbursement is provided; mileage within the supported radius is compensated.
  • The role involves working in a high-volume urgent care environment, serving diverse patient populations.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and EMR training are mandatory prior to the first solo shift.
  • Availability and scheduling should be clearly indicated in bid presentations.

Benefits & Career Development:
  • Opportunity to transition from locum to permanent employment, ensuring career stability.
  • Supportive work environment with dedicated offsite supervision.
  • Continuous learning and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Candidates interested in this position should submit their availability, relevant certifications, and detailed experience. We value professionalism, independence, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Apply today to join a dynamic emergency and urgent care team dedicated to community health and professional growth.
