We're seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine to support veterans’ health assessments across Alaska. This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced professionals to deliver impactful services on a flexible, PRN basis, ensuring our nation's heroes receive the care and evaluations they deserve.

In this role, you'll conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in accordance with government standards. Operating primarily in Juneau, Sitka, and Delta Junction, you'll utilize your expertise to perform interview-based assessments with minimal physical exam components—no prescribing or treatment involved. Your work will directly support veterans' benefits determinations, and your contributions will be valued by a dedicated team committed to excellence.

Required Skills:
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in Alaska or eligible for licensure
  • Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine experience
  • Ability to perform interview-based assessments and basic physical evaluations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
  • Reliable internet and a private, designated workspace for telehealth activities

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience in compensation and pension exams
  • Familiarity with veterans’ health or government healthcare programs
  • Certification in additional medical specialties or credentials

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner certification with state licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, ideally in family or internal medicine
  • Experience with remote or telehealth assessments is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Own a private office location within 50 miles of Juneau or Sitka, or within 75 miles of Delta Junction
  • Willingness to complete required credentialing and onboarding processes swiftly
  • Availability for scheduled assessments starting on 03/06/2026
  • Travel expenses included in rates; no reimbursement for certifications or portal training

This is a rewarding opportunity with competitive hourly pay of $402.00, combined with a flat-rate structure and bonus incentives for completing training and initial exams. You will benefit from weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), ongoing support from a dedicated team, paid sick time, and reimbursements for licensure, certification, and travel where applicable.

Seize this chance to serve those who served us—apply now and become an essential part of veterans’ health evaluations. Your expertise can make a profound difference.
