This position offers the chance to work independently within your own office location, supporting our nation's Veterans while enjoying competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

In this role, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments across select locations in North Carolina. Your primary responsibilities include conducting interview-based assessments, physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, and preparing detailed reports. The position is ideal for family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic, or general medicine providers with an interest in Veterans’ health and assessment services.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
  • Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform detailed assessments and document findings accurately
  • Familiarity with medical examinations and diagnostic procedures
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Reliable internet access and a private office setup for conducting assessments

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience with Compensation & Pension evaluations
  • Knowledge of Veteran healthcare protocols
  • Certification in relevant clinical specialties

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification recognized in North Carolina
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a general medicine setting
  • Experience with non-treatment medical assessments or evaluations is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Own a designated private office location within the specified radius of your target areas
  • Willingness to travel locally within the assigned regions
  • Ability to work PRN, flexible hours, including half-day and full-day shifts
  • Reliable technology setup for report submission and administrative tasks
  • No prior certifications or portal training reimbursements are provided before employment

Compensation for this role is highly competitive, with a flat rate of $402.00 per hour worked. The position includes a one-time bonus of $650 upon completion of initial training and first exams, with travel costs covered within rates. Local candidates are preferred, and the position starts on February 2, 2026.
