Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine KY

In this role, you will perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments across the country, primarily focusing on interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. This is a non-treatment, non-prescribing position designed for providers with a background in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery, or those experienced with compensation and pension exams. You will work in your own office location, with a need for availability in Paducah, KY, two days per week within a 50-mile radius.

Required Skills:
  • Active medical license (state-specific)
  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics
  • Strong interview and physical assessment skills
  • Ability to perform exams efficiently while adhering to guidelines
  • Excellent organizational and report-writing skills
  • Comfortable performing brief assessments with no prescribing or treatment duties

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams
  • Familiarity with veteran healthcare protocols
  • Certification in relevant specialties or additional training in disability evaluations
  • Experience working independently in a telehealth or private practice setting

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine
  • Prior experience with military or veteran evaluations is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Own a dedicated office space within the specified area
  • Willingness to perform exams on a PRN, ongoing basis
  • Ability to complete administrative work such as report submissions and addendums
  • Participation in required training and successful performance of initial exams
  • Local candidates only, with travel included in the pay rates

This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $402.00, with flat rates for half-day ($600) and full-day ($1200) shifts, plus a one-time bonus of $650 for completing training and your first exams.
