Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine WA

Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner looking for flexible, impactful work serving our nation's Veterans? We are seeking experienced General Medicine Providers to perform critical Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Washington. This highly valuable role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Veterans' well-being while enjoying competitive compensation and flexible scheduling.

In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments, with some physical testing such as range of motion and muscle strength evaluations. You will not provide treatment or prescribe medication, focusing solely on non-treatment exams to support Veterans’ benefits claims. This is an ongoing, PRN position, ideal for providers seeking part-time or flexible engagements.

Required Skills:
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in Washington State
  • Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
  • Familiarity with Compensation & Pension exams or experience working with Veterans a plus
  • Excellent interview and assessment skills
  • Ability to perform physical assessments as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and report documentation

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience with VA or military-related assessments
  • Background in occupational health or insurance medical exams
  • Ability to work independently with efficiency and professionalism

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2+ years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
  • Prior certification in occupational health or specialized VA assessments is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Must have own office location or be willing to work within designated areas
  • Willingness to complete initial training and perform first exams to qualify for bonus
  • Local candidates only; travel is included in rates
  • Availability to work starting March 6, 2026; ongoing PRN work preferred
  • No reimbursement for certifications or portal training prior to start

Competitive hourly pay rate of $402.00, with flat rates for full and half-day shifts ($1200 and $600 respectively) along with a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and initial exams. Weekly pay schedule through direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits, paid sick leave, and a robust referral bonus program are included. We provide support through a dedicated 24/7 team committed to your success, along with licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements where applicable.
