This position is ideal for licensed NPs with a background in general medicine or experience in veteran healthcare, looking for flexible, meaningful work on a PRN basis.
Required Skills
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York
- Experience or background in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
- Strong interview skills and ability to perform physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in your own office setting
- Strict adherence to exam protocols and documentation standards
Nice to Have Skills
- Prior experience performing Compensation & Pension exams or related assessments
- Familiarity with veteran healthcare procedures or certifications
- Experience with medical reporting and documentation management
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- At least 2 years of clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner
- Prior experience in assessments or occupational health is a plus
Other Requirements
- Own appropriate office space in NY with necessary medical equipment
- Willingness to perform exams at scheduled locations in Ithaca and Trumansburg
- Ability to adhere to the outlined rate structure and complete administrative follow-up work as needed
- Travel costs are included in the pay rate
- No additional reimbursements for certifications beyond licensure and travel expenses when applicable
