Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a focus on general medicine, seeking a flexible and impactful opportunity? Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company and trusted government contractor, is looking for committed providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New York. This is your chance to contribute to vital veteran services while enjoying a flexible PRN schedule, competitive pay, and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily through interview-based assessments, with some physical testing such as range of motion and muscle strength evaluations.
- Determine eligibility and gather necessary medical information without providing treatment or prescriptions.
- Manage One-Time assessments at your own office locations in Ithaca and Trumansburg, NY, with scheduling flexibility (½ or full-day shifts).
- Complete exams efficiently, submit detailed reports and addendums; administrative follow-up is part of the role.
- Lead exams on a PRN, ongoing basis with opportunities to accept part-time or full-day schedules.
Required Skills:
- Valid NY state Nurse Practitioner license.
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
- Experience with Compensation & Pension assessments or related activities preferred.
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage documentation accurately.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in veterans’ healthcare or government contract settings.
- Familiarity with compensation and pension exam procedures.
- Certification in relevant specialties or additional licensures.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields.
- Experience with administrative documentation and report writing.
Other Requirements:
- Own a suitable office space in Ithaca or Trumansburg, NY.
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, accepting a flexible schedule.
- Willingness to complete necessary credentialing and onboarding processes.
- Local candidates only; travel expenses included in pay rates.
